The Kaazing Virtual Machine (Project Chai)

The Kaazing Virtual Machine (VM) compliments Kaazing Gateway and enables Java developers to build real-time Web applications without having to know anything beyond the Java programing language and its common libraries. Therefore, there are few barriers to learn how to create and deliver applications compelling rich internet applications—it is simply Java.

The Kaazing VM facilities this high-level of productivity by translating Java bytecode to client-side native code at runtime, enabling Java applications with desktop-like functionality to be delivered as real-time Web applications. DHTML and JavaScript are the only artifacts delivered to the browser. Third-party plugins are not required. In addition, the Kaazing VM supports most major Web browsers.

The VM in combination with Kaazing's Gateway extends the reach of Java services such as JMS, JMX, and EJB to the browser by providing a plug-in free environment for execution of Java in a form native to the browser environment.

Applications deployed in Kaazing's environment need only be packaged in a simple JAR file. There is no additional setup required to deploy translated applications to standard Java EE containers. Applications are translated dynamically at runtime, and application logic is loaded and executed just-in-time.
